Public Works Department (PWD)

The Public Works Department is responsible for the construction and maintenance of new roads, bridges and buildings. Pune district has 1825 km of state highways and 5023 km of major district roads. There are also 533 Major and Minor bridges.

There are 2365 Government office buildings in Pune district with an area of ​​12,28,146 sq m and 1787 Government residential buildings with an area of ​​9,72,124 sq m.

The Public Works Department execute works under the schemes of State Budget Fund, Central Road Fund, NABARD, Hybrid Annuity Model, Asian Development Bank, HUDCO etc.
