- To exercise administrative control over all the Municipal Councils/Nagar Panchayats in the district.
- To review the schemes implemented at the Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat level of the Central and State Governments from time to time.
- To approve the budget estimates received from all the Municipal Councils/Nagar Panchayats in the district.
- To plan for effective implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan in the Municipality/Nagar Panchayat area.
- To take action regarding rent fixation and extension of Municipal Council commercial complexes and buildings.
- To take action on the proposal for extension of Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat limits.
- To take action regarding the inclusion of Nagar Panchayat employees.
- To decide various appeals regarding the disqualification of Nagar Council/Nagar Panchayat members, various appeals filed as per the provisions of the Act.
- To give administrative approval from the funds received under the Central Finance Commission.Submitting the received proposals for the establishment of new Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat to the Government.
- Effectively implementing National Urban Livelihood Mission and PM SWANIDHI Yojana.• Giving administrative approval to the proposals received under the Basic Amenities Scheme in the Municipal corporation area.
