AD 937 -Rashtrakoota empire copper plate indicating Pune’s original  name as
"Punya-Vishaya" or "Poonak Vishaya"  
AD 1000 (circa)- The Pataleshwar cave temples on Jungli Maharaj Road are   thought to have been built
1595 -Maloji Bhosale receives Jahagir of Pune and Supe from the Mughals
1625-Shahaji, Shivaji’s father appoints Rango Bapuji Dhadphale as administrator of Pune who develops the Kasba, Somwar, Ravivar and Shaniwar Peth localities
1640-The Lal Mahal palace for Shivaji and his mother Jijabai is built
1720-Bajirao I becomes the Peshwa
1730- Shaniwar Wada is completed
1749- Nanasaheb Peshwa, Bajirao’s son, builds Parvati temple and Lakdi Pul, now called Sambhaji Bridge
1761- Decline of the Maratha empire begins after the Marathas lose the battle of Panipat 1782 Nana Phadnavis builds Pune’s drainage system
1782 -Nana Phadnavis builds Pune’s drainage system
1790- A water supply system for the city is introduced, designed by Sardar Raste
1811- Vishrambag Wada is built
